Gold. Well, Brass - but it looks like gold. Except the gears would be too soft were they gold. Hmmm.

A few things to note - this came from a residential water meter register, USA. You can see (in the background) the numbers the register used - it’s odometer style. I have several photos like this, but am not going to list them. Let me know if you’d like to see others.
